Dream Maidens' Song

At the eastern shore of a troubled land on a winters day so cold, was born the heart of a gentle man, a heart so brave and so bold... This heart found strength in noble deeds, and peace through verse and song... Pain made him wise, loving heart made him need someone to always belong... Off in the distance, hope called him onward. Bright hope of his dream to live. This dream's a lady, who only wants to, all of her life to him give... Lovely dream maiden with heart calm and kind. To her soul she would bind him with the sweetest debt a man hopes to find, and her brave knight she would win... Into the unknown he traveled along with confidence he did ride. While his heart could hear, the dream maidens' song he would search this whole world wide... Dragons and dark clouds, constantly followed, he fought them each night and day. They made him stumble, into hearts hollow, to steal all his hopes away. Somewhere in the realm, while she is asleep, he calls to her all night long... Somehow she knows that in his tears he keeps words of her dream maidens' song... Inside her thoughts, she quietly wonders if her knight is dream or real... While close behind him the dark cloud thunders Icy winds close enough to feel... Her cries call to him, she sees his sorrow. His kindness will her heart steal. If he can find her, they know tomorrow, their love all troubles could heal. Herself to his care, she would place her trust. His honor would make a way, to free her troubles, true happiness must... live in each dream maidens' day. From in the dark clouds, a dragon reaches. Hunger behind scaly claws... Right can't always win, as hopeful teach us... Evil does not live by laws. Alone in her dream, maiden is calling. loneliness tightens its' grip. Alone in darkness, brave knight is falling, hopeful blood from his heart drips. Whispers of loving, cries of despairing, meet somewhere in the dream land. The fragile fabric, of dreams is tearing. for lack of a gentle hand... So as his brave eyes, close for the last time... in their dream hers now open. We should remember their love in this rhyme, so our hearts stay unbroken. Even though fate plays , both sides opposing. Sometimes the dragons will win. but if in my heart, dream maidens songs ring, I know my quest I'll begin. I'll fear not dragons, or dark clouds so cold. No matter who wins it seems... I'll not fear because, from love I've been told... Always we'll live in our dreams.... Tom Walters
