A Slaves Fire
a finger of the unwanted hand reached deep inside
and touched a part of me not yet known
a repressed piece of me
of the woman not ready to come forth
but come forth she did
at his horried touch
in flames and fury of the legendary fire bird
in flames and fury the bird was reborn
inside the hole that was left
when the woman emerged before her time
and in time
as the woman began to know why she was so out of place
so different from everyone
the fire bird raged inside to be set free
and an unknowing woman
let it free
with the woman it raged and fought
and tried to suppress the woman premature
but weeks turned to years and the two became one
together the woman
and the bird of flames
grew to a state of unchecked wrath and fury
in all of its sense it was a battle
to tame the fire the bird had given her
a warrior woman child within a young woman's body
the fire grew and grew
left a burn of emptiness in its rage
and aroused emotions the warrior woman child never knew
a leader, a peace keeper, a guide
the fire led to high places
but the burns so deep in her soul
ached longingly to be filled
a need to be tamed
a heart of love
a want to please
the fire flickers strong and bright
and each burn longs to be filled
to stop the wild fire from spreading so tame me take me love me
break my spirit to your will
with the fire wild inside and the emptiness deep in soul
