~*~Gifts To Remember~*~

I remember when life had simple pleasures,
All my past memories all now my treasures,
The first time I climbed that snarled tree,
I felt like an angel in heaven in my memory,

That kite flying with tail wagging each way,
Made me so happy with my friends that day,
We made angels in the snow and snow men too,
'Twas a wonderful season for skiing with you,

I remember those days at the beach in the sun,
Splashing and surfing until day was all done,
The days playing sports with all our friends,
Make memories so lasting they will never end,

The dances we danced and laughing time and again,
At the others dancing and trying to pretend,
That we knew the name and singer of the song,
While singing and dancing unable to do wrong,

That first date with that special person so new,
Anxious and nervous about what we would pursue,
Those moments we spent at the movies without end,
Gave us fantasies of being places we never had been,

When we finished school with a fresh new start,
Leaving old friends wishing they never would part,
Falling in love I knew with all my beating heart,
That you were the one, never wanting to be apart,

Those moments that children came into our life,
Growing, playing and joyous moments sans strife,
Of weddings, graduations, plays,grandchildren too,
The smell of the flowers and glisten of morn dew,

Give me such memories as we dream of times we knew,
Simple treasures, gifts from friends and family too,
Those sweet days of fall with our loved ones so true,
Made precious moments unhastened and happy, not blue,

I remember the times we hugged and held each other near,
Precious moments we shared embracing and holding so dear,
The ones we love and cherish in our hearts and souls here,
These are the beautiful memories as I ponder everywhere,

Joy, laughter and happiness are gifts we well remember,
The hard times in our lives pale with gifts in December,
These life's simple times we dream and remember each day,
Make the lives we have lived special to many in every way,

Memories past and memories yet made are special to me,
Life's simple pleasures have become treasures you see,
All of those moments with family and friends without end,
Are saved in our hearts 'til we can remember that joy again,

Our memories have faded and bodies have withered slowly away,
But memories and happiness they gave us are here each day,
Held dearly in our hearts and memories cherished as we say,
Thanks for all the memories and joys we shared without dismay,

We want to pass on our legacy with these gifts sent from above,
We have shared through life's years like that fluttering dove,
All our precious gifts and memories fit like fingers of a glove,
These simple moments shared forever as our unconditional love.
